How absolutely marvellous; Oh dear me, look what the cat dragged in, a PAP smear. My comments below; [Note; the writer uses the term ‘President’ (in a Singaporean context) and ‘Leader’ in the same sentence, I think that says a lot in and of itself.] At 05:54 081199: >Dear People of Singapore: > >Have you ever noticed how Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong commented >on the People of Singapore? If you still remember, Prime Minister >Goh has publicly criticized “Singaporeans are like Stone Age >people”. Prime Minister Goh made such an inappropriate remark on >the People of Singapore, therefore this remark has automatically >become a good excuse for foreigners to disrespect Singaporeans, >because this remark was made by Singaporean own Prime Minister. > >Several decades ago, Singapore was backward, people were poor, >Singaporeans were disrespected by foreigners. In order to make >Singapore advanced, to make people wealthy, and to have >foreigners respect & look up to Singaporeans, the People of >Singapore have been working very hard continuously for the past >several decades. After several decades of hard work, Singaporeans >finally achieve today’s success, Singaporeans are gradually >gaining foreigners’ respects (the fruit of several decades of >hard work). Nevertheless Prime Minister Goh criticized >“Singaporeans are like Stone Age people”, this remark has given >foreigners a very good excuse to disrespect Singaporeans, and >this inappropriate remark has also been published by foreign >newspapers. Therefore, has Prime Minister Goh treasured the fruit >of several decades of Singaporean hard work? Does Prime Minister >Goh respect the People of Singapore? > >Dear People of Singapore, have you ever heard that the leader of >a nation used inappropriate words to criticize his own people? >Which nations’ leaders? How many? Have heard one nation’s leader >has done so, or two nations’ leaders have done so? Or, have never >heard any other nations’ leaders have done so? Therefore, why do >other nations’ leaders know to respect their own people and to >protect the reputations of their own people? On the contrary, >Prime Minister Goh has shown no respect to the People of >Singapore and impaired the reputation of the People of Singapore. > >In “News #3 for The People of Singapore” of 28 Oct. 1998, I have >mentioned that Prime Minister Goh had no intention to respect >Former President Ong Teng Cheong as The President of Singapore. >Before the presidential election of 1999, Prime Minister Goh >refused to support Former President Ong’s running for second term >of presidency by reason of Former President Ong’s medical record. >If medical record was so important, then why we did not see Prime >Minister Goh investigated and published the medical records of >the other 3 applicants of the presidential election? > >In human history, there were many great leaders, although they >died while they were holding office, they accomplished many >brilliant feats for their people. For example, Former President >Roosevelt of U. S. A., although he died while he was holding >office, he led American people to win World War II, he also >helped many other countries to win World War II. > >Human history has also told us, as long as good king was alive, >people would always have a good life; on the contrary, as long as >bad king was in power for one day, people would suffer for one >day. Former President Ong is still alive and has proven to be an >excellent President who cares for people. Therefore, shouldn’t >Prime Minister Goh support Former President Ong to be >continuously our President of Singapore? Has Prime Minister Goh >cared about our will (the People’s will)? > >As stated above, Prime Minister Goh criticized “Singaporeans are >like Stone Age people”, then Prime Minister Goh had no intention >to respect Former President Ong Teng Cheong as The President of >Singapore, then Prime Minister Goh refused to support Former >President Ong’s running for second term of presidency; today, we >(people) have lost Former President Ong (who cares for people) to >be our President of Singapore. Are these our wills (the wills of >3 millions of people)? Has Prime Minister Goh respected us (3 >millions of people)? We (people) have been paying our hard-earned >money for taxes, should we (3 millions of people) continue to >tolerate Prime Minister Goh’s disrespect to us? Should we have a >person, having such doings, being The Prime Minister of Singapore >continuously? And, in order to protect you and your family >members from becoming victims like me (please refer to the PART >II of “News #5 for The People of Singapore”), let us march on the >street and loudly speak up: > > Oppose Prime Minister Goh’s disrespect to Former President > Ong Teng Cheong! > Oppose Prime Minister Goh’s disrespect to us (the People > of Singapore)! > Prime Minister Goh please step down! > >Note: >To read “News #3 for The People of Singapore” and this article >in English and Chinese, please visit: > http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/Congress/2820 >To read the PART II of “News #5 for The People of Singapore”, my >particular information & my e-mail addresses, please visit: > http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/Parliament/6402 > or > http://wwwp.timenet.net/dai305 > >Sincerely yours, > >Dai Charn Chen >17 Oct. 1999 After several decades of hard work, you’d imagine foreigners would be able to respect Singaporeans (us people), I mean, after all, look at the quality of our anti-government propaganda. PM Goh is so obviously wrong in disrespecting us (people) (especially after several decades of hard work), and giving foreigners (not people) an excuse to do so, as, presumably, they (not people) do not have several decades of hard work to their credit. If you judge a country by the quality of its opposition, I’d have to agree that we remain in the Stone Ages (maybe after several more decades of hard work we (people) can make it into the Early Bronze Age). In human (people / not people ? i’m confused) history, there were many great leaders, although they died while holding office, they accomplished many brilliant feats for their people. For example, Former Supreme Megalomaniacal Ruler Adolf Hitler of Germany, although he killed himself while he was holding office, led the Germans to exterminate countless foreigners who did not respect the Germans (after several decades of hard work), and also helped many other Axis powers to wreck havoc during World War II. And to Dai Charn Chen, if you don’t like it here, get the fuck out. Word to the wise, MS Office has a grammar checker, I suggest you use it. – the nocturne; (who doesn’t have to use our real name because we actually support the PAP) PS; WT, you’re right, when we Rule the World, we’ll exterminate first and ask questions later.
