[ BUY MY BOOKS! Witch-Girl Season One | The Bridge Across the Sky (Amazon) (Kobo) (Goodreads) ][ Stories: Witch-Girl (Read from the bottom of the list), The Canon ] [ Poetry: All Poetry; ( ♥ ) ( ⚔ ) ] [ Stalk me on Facebook, Twitter, DeviantArt and Kiva. ] [ red_a02 ] Shuzhen – The first episode was a lot of fun, cos it had an interesting cocktail of sexual tension and smooth fight choreography. This episode is like the awkward aftermath... 27 Aquarius 13 18:13 [ vermilion_2 ] YAPX – I understand that most of your stories are dialogue-based and heavy on retorts and counter-retorts. This one felt unnecessarily circular. It starts with a cool premise: a killer/villain/vigilante uses Lent to swear off something that should be second nature to him (I suppose), and then talks about a story. The link between the two (giving up killing & the story) isn’t a 100% fit. Maybe instead of “let me tell you a story”, it could be “hey, you see I even passed a guy up for death today!” or equivalent. Something to drag Lorelei into the banter and the premise. // That’s my only complaint. I’m not a big fan of dialogue-based stories, but I can make a exception for this. 14 Aquarius 13 08:03 [ 130204 ] YAPX – Good pace, good characters, great dialogue. The thing I like best is a combination of the three: how you build up their pseudo-relationship through all that back-and-forth exchange. Somehow, you craft a unique, strange relationship: from any one point in the story, both of them are manipulative, victimised and hypocrites - though not all at once. // On word choices, I felt you could change the word “janitor” (“cleaner” or “uncle” would’ve given a different, but more acute local flavour to it). Mostly because, it’s connotes an added level of difference through: class. Whether or not you intended it, by portraying the “janitor” and “student” you bring out the fact that he’s stuck there socially in all sense of the word. It made the part where he says he reads books during weekends completely out-of-context and weird. // Also, there’s too much “sliding” in and out of the room. Not sure if that’s intentional repetition, or just a lack of other words. // I thought that the girl’s own background is pretty compelling. Even after everything, I can’t tell if she’s speaking the truth. Because I’m all for unreliable narrators and characters, I can still find her well-thought out. But other readers might lose patience or wonder at her sudden change of heart at the final moment. 04 Aquarius 13 08:48 …more… |

Everywhen I watch a Miyazaki film I come away thinking “This is the best film ever.” Not strictly true (I’m not particularly fond of, say, three of them), but few have wowed me as often and as wonderfully as he has. Ponyo on the Cliff by the Seaside, in direct contrast to Disney’s The Little Mermaid, is so much better on so many levels. ![]() The Cliff by the Seaside ![]() Girlporn – Food While looking up why Anne Hathaway had a show called Bride Wars and another called Rachel Getting Married (and, perchance, are they the same film?), I found out what is The Greatest. News. Ever., that Anne is playing a part in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Tim Burton! Johnny Depp! Anne Hathaway! Alice! It pains me that I found out so early, because now I have to wait at least a full fucking year. And I absolutely hate people “building buzz” for movies going to be released in the far future. I waited forever for Watchmen and it’s still not out, and then there’s Avengers. For some people it’s Star Wars. For some people it’s Batman. For some people it’s Jesus. For me, it has always, but always, been Alice. It was Alice that made me take up my hobby of emotionally-different haberdashery. Though, Anne’s role is as the White Queen, and the White Queen is from Looking Glass, and Wonderland and Looking Glass are two separate stories, which leads one to ponder the fidelity to the source. Also, I was told earlier today that Burton’s new film is another stop motion feature… which kinda doesn’t matter who’s starring (Po is Po, right? One doesn’t really emotionally connect with the fact that it’s Jack Black under all that fur.) You know, if you had asked me somewhen ago what would be the greatest news ever, it would be Zhang Ziyi naked. I also found out today, in some sort of Cosmic Proof that typing almost anything into Goggle (in this case, “Anne Hathaway”) is merely a few clicks away from porn, that Zhang Ziyi was, indeed, photographed while, get this, getting fingered on a beach. Somehow, I found the news so unexciting I didn’t even bother clicking on the thumbnails. Mayhaps, it’s being wowed by Ponyo, followed by being wowed by news of what sound like a promisingly good Alice and my heart no longer had room to be wowed. Or, mayhaps, Zhang Ziyi’s star had faded in said heart. Or, mayhaps, I am not the sex-maniac I make myself out to be. That, beneath the veneer of a rogue, beats a heart more interested in stories made to entertain children. Such a heart must be truly a sensitive one, attuned to kindness and deeply caring of feelings. What travails must a man with such a heart have suffered, that he feels he has to wear a mask and hide that sensitive heart, that deep well of feeling, and keep it close, that it may not be again so tragically wounded, as it surely – oh! how surely! – must have been. Why, all it would take would be for the right person – the right woman – to come along and bring him out of his shell, that the beautiful flower may bloom yet again, and spread its petals in the light. Where could such a woman be? On the chance that you’re wondering if it could be you, ask yourself this, “Do I look endearingly fetching in a tiny black dress?” Then again, almost all the traffic I get right now is from people looking for pictures of Eva Mendes topless, pictures of Jo Garcia playing the Wii Fit naked, pictures of the boobs of Six of One from Tripping the Rift and, well, all the other celebrities I’ve posted nipples uncovered. This leads me to believe a higher nipple count might, as has been previously stated, be fruitful. I don’t understand why I get such traffic though, there are hundreds of sites singularly devoted to that kind of thing. But that’s not why, a few days after I wrote the above, I went to find the pics. What made me do it was this – I thought of a caption. ![]() Colonisation
