Time and Tide
– 250705 da:wn
He said;
“Know that in this breath I kiss,
will fly upon the starlit breeze,
cross the ocean upon those tides that rise,
and alight upon your sleeping eyes.”
She said;
“One kiss I’ll cherish oh so dear,
but nothing more than that I fear,
while kisses may and voices can,
upon nothing else may I depend.”
“Even if we be so far apart,
nothing can slow the turning heart,
if but one night from you can be so strange,
then a month a year can nothing change.”
“One night a year are not the same,
the candle can only hold so much flame;
Though your kiss may fly upon the tide,
what can stop the march of night?”
“Nothing can twain what will be as one,
the night will stop upon love’s bright sun;
I have no doubt that we will last,
because I have faith in you having faith in us.”
